 As
an Educational Consultant, I specialize in giving guidance and assistance
to parents of troubled teens. I also serve as a Life Coach for
teenagers and young adults, parents and families, and organization
leaders. While exploring this site, you will discover that these
two roles may overlap and complement one another.
AS AN EDUCATIONAL CONSULTANT
I work with young people and their families who
face challenges and hurdles beyond anything most of us have ever
imagined. The accelerating pace and sheer complexity of our technological
age, negative peer pressure in the youth culture, the influence
of media, widespread drug and alcohol abuse, and the presence of
disharmony and violence in our society create special challenges
for families and children. In this context, we are called to do
everything in our power to guide and sometimes to intervene vigorously
in the lives of our children and teens to ensure they have a chance to grow
up whole and to live productive lives.
In my practice I deal with a wide range of concerns,

- Drug and Alcohol Abuse
- Emotional and Behavior Problems
- Learning Disabilities (LD)
- School Failure or Rapid Decline
- Lack of Confidence and Self-Esteem

I have faced some of these challenges personally
as the father of a teenaged son who was spiraling out of control
at age 16. Thanks in great measure to the support and integrity
of creative emotional growth programs, my son is now in control
of his life and building a solid foundation for his future.
Based on both my personal and professional experience,
I can assure you that creative, hopeful options are available. In
fact, there are more than 400 schools and programs for troubled
teens in this country: wilderness therapy programs, emotional growth
schools, residential treatment centers, mentoring programs, and
character-building boarding schools. I have visited scores of these
programs and have developed an extensive network of colleagues and
friends associated with them. My goal as an educational consultant
is to help you secure placement of your teen in the school or program
in which he or she will thrive.
AS A LIFE COACH
 I
assist others as they strive for awareness and responsibility in
solving personal or family problems and/or becoming more effective
and fulfilled as teenager, young adult, parent, leader, or part
of an organization. My approach to coaching is based on deep listening,
honest communication, and gentle guidance to help "the coachee"
find his or her way towards personal fulfillment. It is important
to understand that I am neither a psychotherapist, a counselor,
nor a social worker. I am a Life Coach, committed to exploring creative
and practical solutions in a collaborative relationship with each
client. One client recently wrote me: "The coaching you gave
